Welcome to the Substitute Hot-line Homepage Doreen Sanderson Science Department Secretary Substitute Teacher Coordinator phone:  (708) 335-5589 Hotline (815) 464-9112                    dsanderson@hfhighschool.org It is extremely important that you contact your Department Secretary as soon as you are aware that you will need a substitute for a planned absence (meeting, workshop, field trip, etc.).  With regards to an unplanned absence (illness, family emergency, etc.), you must contact the Substitute Teacher Hotline as soon as you are sure that you will not be attending school on the next given day.  Calls can be made 24 hours a day but must be done so before 7:00 a.m. on the date of the absence.  If an emergency or illness occurs after 7:00 a.m. on that day, please contact the Substitute Teacher Coordinator at 708-799-3000  ext. 5589 or contact your Department Secretary as soon as possible. When calling in an unplanned absence (815-464-9112), the following information must be provided on the answering machine or given to the Coordinator when he/she answers the phone: 1.      Your name 2.      Subject that you teach 3.      Which building you are located in 4.      Your room number 5.      Which periods you teach on that day 6.      Lunch period 7.      Location of your lesson plans If your lesson plans are not already set up and available at school, you will need to contact your Department Secretary to get them put together for you,.  Please do not leave your actual lesson plans on the answering machine for the Substitute Teacher Coordinator.
