I was born to Eileen and Farrell Thomas on September 23^rd 1966, the sixth of six children. With the exception of my schooling, I have been a life-long resident of Homewood buying a house a mere four blocks from where I grew up. In 1990, I received my BA in journalism from St. Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota and joined the working world. After a number of years and a number of jobs, the realization that I wanted a career and not just a job caused me to return to school for my teaching certificate. My student teaching experience took place at Thornton Community High School in the fall of 1997, and in the Spring of 1998 I was hired as an instructional aid here at Homewood Flossmoor. The following fall I was fortunate to be hired on as an English teacher. In 2004, I earned my Masters in English and am currently pursuing a second masters in Educational Leadership. Currently, I am chairing the Applied Academic department and teaching small engines. On the personal side, I am married and have a beautiful daughter. My hobbies include woodworking, biking and sailing.
